How to become a world record holder in freediving — all about the thorny path of freediver-athlete Andrey Matveenko at the Moscow Dive Show 2024

25 Jan 2024

In the summer of 2023, at the international freediving competitions in Honduras, Russian freediver Andrey Matveenko unexpectedly dives 134 meters deep in a monolayer and becomes the absolute world record holder in deep competitive freediving. And this is after: * several years of sports isolation of the Russian national team; covid; * gas embolism (and they say that freedivers do not happen...); * stroke (official diagnosis, by the way); * the preparatory stage, which took place exclusively in the Black Sea. Andrey Matveenko, Master of Sports of Russia of international class in underwater sports, leading instructor of the Molchanovs system, world champion and record holder in freediving, will talk about what we had to overcome in order to earn the status of a world record holder, and how, in fact, we managed to do it, from the stage of the Moscow Dive Show 2024.

February 10 (Saturday), 14: 00, Moscow Dive Show 2024 stage, Gostiny Dvor.
