Do I need to represent Suunto specifically in the aquatic community? It is unlikely, but we will do it anyway, at least to let you know that in February at the exhibition you will be able to get acquainted with the new products of the legendary company.
"Suunto's history dates back almost 80 years, when Tuomas Vohlonen, a Finnish engineer and orienteering enthusiast, proposed a new technical method for mass production of liquid compasses in 1936. This invention is the first in a long line of innovations developed by Suunto.
The first diving compass was created by Suunto in 1965. Later, the company revolutionized the sport by releasing the first dive computer in 1987. Previously, divers had to calculate dive times using special tables that were quite difficult to use. However, the new Suunto SME-ML took care of all the issues related to the calculation of dive parameters, which made this sport safer and more popular.
SUUNTO's renowned Finnish quality has long been an industry benchmark – devices and computers go through all stages from development to assembly at Suunto's headquarters and factory in Vantaa, Finland.
