Stars and angels among Arctic corals-Konstantin Novikov at the Moscow Dive Show 2024

04 Jan 2024

On Sunday, February 11, biologist and underwater photographer Konstantin Novikov will take the stage of the Moscow Dive Show 2024 with a photo essay and a story about the smallest inhabitants of our Arctic waters.

Coral is a word that we associate with the tropics and warm blue water. However, the cold, Arctic seas are also rich in various forms of these animals. Many of them prefer icy water so much that they live at depths inaccessible to the sun's rays. And in these coral oases, you can meet an incredible variety of beautiful creatures: starfish, ophiurus, nudibranchs, crustaceans and fish.

The white Sea is rich in bizarre creatures. Because of the low water temperature, they are not very mobile, which is why they will not only give the novice photographer the opportunity to hone their skills, but also will be able to please the eye of the most demanding underwater macro photographer with their shapes.

Konstantin Novikov-Candidate of Biological Sciences, scuba diving and freediving instructor, underwater photographer, head of the popular science and educational programs Prosveshcharium of the Polar Circle Tour Center, dive director of the Polar Circle dive Center.

You can learn a lot about the macro world of the Arctic by admiring beautiful photos on the big screen on February 11 at the Moscow Dive Show 2024.
